Home Water Testing Protocol

In accordance with the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW) and the guidelines of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Safe Water Labs recommends the following essential steps to ensure your water remains safe and compliant.

Proper water testing is crucial for maintaining health and safety. Our comprehensive protocol covers everything from identifying your water source to taking appropriate action based on results.

Order Your Test

1. Identify the Water Source

Determine whether the water comes from a private well, community supply, or municipal system.

2. Collect Water Samples

Use a sterilized sampling bottle. Avoid touching the cap and the inside of the bottle to prevent contamination. Let the water run for a few minutes before collecting the sample to flush standing water from the pipes. Label each bottle with the date, time, and source.

3. Select Tests for Analysis

Submit the samples to a DOH–accredited water testing facility or an ISO 17025–accredited laboratory. Choose the appropriate tests based on your needs, priorities, and possible contamination concerns.

4. Contact the Testing Laboratory
